Zzz time with Endy – Final Thoughts

One of the most important things to me is sleep – no surprise there. It’s crazy to think that we spend 36% of our lives in bed (based on having the recommended 8 hour sleep/night). That’s a lot of time to be lying in bed, am I right? So if we are spending that much of our lives in a bed, it’s most definitely worth it to have something that is comfortable, as well as supportive.  Most of us would consider sleep to be an essential contribution to our health. And like other areas of our lives (and overall health) it’s something that we should invest in and care deeply about. To support your best sleep health, consider looking into your mattress as one of the first changes. When I first got my Endy mattress a few months ago I couldn’t be more excited to try it. Initially after unboxing it in my kitchen, and falling on it (contemplating just sleeping on the ground in the kitchen because of how comfy it was, and how unprepared I was to actually get it off the ground and lug it onto my bed frame) it was love at first lay.  Now that I’ve had my Endy mattress for a while now, I’ve managed to round up my overall thoughts and opinions on my experience with the Endy mattress and accompanying pillows.

What I like about it:

• You have time to test out the bed for 100 nights. It provides you with plenty of time to see if this is the right mattress for you (and perhaps your partner as well). If you don’t absolutely love it, Endy will come and pick it up for free, no questions asked, and you’ll get a full refund.• It’s one of the softest, comfortable, and yet most supportive mattresses I’ve slept on (without being too flimsy that it would cause back or neck aches – a problem I’ve had in the past with previous mattresses). My first night sleeping in it I had the best sleep I’ve had in a while.• Cool technology! Yep, that’s right. The great thing about this mattress is that the top layer contains cooling gel, preventing you from overheating.• Endy is NOT made of memory foam, but a special foam unique to Endy. Unlike memory foam, which sinks in the summer and feels firm as a rock in the winter, Endy is designed to offer comfy sleeps through every Canadian season. (That’s why my mattress is not overly firm in the winter, even though we’ve been in the midst of a freezing spell).• The perfect amount of firm. I love a comfy mattress, but sometimes comfort can mean too much plushness = poor support and body aches. The Endy mattress has tiny air cells that act as shock absorbers, therefore decreasing tension on your back and hips• The pillows! I also struggle with finding a good pillow. I want something soft, but not too soft that my bed sinks right through it. On the flip side of that, it can’t be too firm that I feel like I’m resting on a rock. The cool thing about Endy is that it’s NOT memory foam. While memory foam mattresses sink in the summer and feel firm as a rock in the winter, Endy stays the same no matter the temperature. That’s important when the climate in Canada changes so much from season to season!• In addition, I also am that person that constantly wants a cool pillow (flipping from one side to the other throughout the night is a real [okay, first world] struggle). The Endy pillow is that perfect in between firmness and softness, made with shredded bamboo charcoal foam. And it always stays cool – no more flipping!

The one downside:

• There’s not much to say in regards to what I don’t like about it, but the one complaint I have is the fact it doesn’t come with a box spring (like some mattresses do). If you have a headboard that requires a bed frame (not actually built in) then you also require a box spring. Since I was upgrading in size from a double to a queen, I was left with a double box spring and the need to purchase a separate one. I would say that purchasing the mattress is best if you have a bed that doesn’t require a box spring so you don’t have to go through the extra expense (ps. There website outlines which bed frame is most suitable for the Endy mattress as a guide) All in all, I couldn’t be happier with my Endy mattress. It an incredible price point and is Canadian made (yay for supporting Canadian companies). I can say that both myself and my partner have had substantially better sleeps since switching out our mattress. I fall asleep within seconds (according to my partner, Jay) which I attribute 90% to the mattress (and 10% from pure exhaustion). And nothing makes me happier than coming home after a night shift and falling into my Endy bed for a restful snooze.  If you are looking into switching out your mattress for a new one, I would definitely recommend trying out Endy. Check them out at endy.com and you can use ENDY50 for $50 off any size mattress!
