Yet another smoothie recipe! Smoothies are my favourite go-to breakfast in the morning. They are super easy to make, keep you full all morning and can be a great source of nutrients, antioxidants and energy!
1/2 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
1/2 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
1 tsp coconut oil
1 ripe banana
2 tbsp chia seeds (finely ground)
Blend away, and enjoy!
Blueberries are a superfood that are packed with antioxidants that hold many benefits for your health! I’ve talked about antioxidants before, but a little reminder, antioxidants help rid the body of free-radicals that can reduce your chances of developing certain cancers, cardiovascular disease and age-related diseases. Blueberries also have great benefits for you brain! Studies have been conducted revealing that participants who consume blueberries had an increase in memory!
The chia seeds in this smoothie are great for getting your source of fibre and protein (great source for any of you vegans/vegetarians out there!). In addition, both protein and fibre can help with weight loss! Fibre works by improving your digestive health and the protein keeps you feeling fuller longer (decreasing your appetite).
Like in the other smoothie, I have added coconut oil to this smoothie. You’ll almost always see me using coconut oil in my smoothies, 1) for smoothness, 2) to increase metabolism!
Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy this super tasty super smoothie!
